Acoustic solutions DS533 remote control issues

Hello guys (and gals!)
I have just registered in the hope that someone can help me pleeeeeeeeease!!!!!
I have an ACOUSTIC SOLUTIONS DS533 home cinema system. Good or bad - thats what I've got!
I have found out that there are known issues with the remote control for this speaker set.
Anyway, my remote control has packed up now. I have changed the batteries but it just will not work. It did work OK a short while ago and I know its not the speaker or the infra red sensor.
I read on another post that All-in-one Kameleon universal remote controls will work this system. So, I bought an 8060 and tried. NO GO!
So, I bought another one - the 8206 and still won't work. I am pulling my hair out now. I have found acoustic solutions online and emailed ALL their departments with no reply asking them poiltely for a remote code or how to get a replacement remote control unit.
i cannot even use the old remote to make the kameleon "learn" the codes of it - as it is DEAD.
All i need is a known WORKING code(s) for this system. Can anyone help me please????

I think I might be in the same boat as you, I have one of these

http://www.acousticsolutions.net/product.asp?ID=112 not sure what model it is I think it's the same as yours, found out today my 7 month old son has been chewing the remote and it's officially dead. Now a while ago I did get it working on a khameleon remote thingy but there was no code, I had to teach it the old remote by putting the two of them together and doing it button by button. However, that all 4 one was a bit ropey and went through batteries like crazy and I'd like to get a new one that would also work.

If you find a fix let me know, I'll do likewise. If I can transfer my settings to a new remote I'll let you know and maybe I can do the same for you.

If however we have two dead systems what were you thinking of replacing yours with?

Good news, I got mine working again with a change of battery, I've ordered an all for one remote from amazon that has a learning function which I know works, as I have a Kamaleon by them that learnt the DS533 buttons.

Anyway to my point If you are really desperate, I have a working remote, if you had a remote with a learning function which most of the all for one's do, you could sent it to me, I'll map them to it and send it back. I have heard acoustic solutions are really helpful if you can get in touch with them so they would be the ideal, but I knew how gutted I was when I thought I was going to have to fork out for a new system just because of the stupid remote so anything I can do to help let me know.

The Kameleon has a built in modem for code upgrades. One simple phone call to customer support and in less than 2 minutes it would be working. Or download the codes yourself. According to the download site you have to upgrade amplifier codes 1466 and 1501 for the DS533.

OK, it half works. Only works to switch on and off and raise and lower the volume. Can only get stereo and not surround sound and cannot alter the DSP modes.

I just had to register and pass on my related experiences here!

I recently got one of these Acoustic Solutions DS533 systems off of ebay for £33 .. and for a cheap set it sounds pretty good to me! Granted it's not approaching Hi-Fi in any way, but it does a reasonable job for the money!

I too had read about the problems with the 'credit-card' sized remote .. and having programmed every button onto my One4All, have now taken the battery out and stored it away for safe-keeping!

Acoustic Solutions seem to have gone out of business sadly, so replacements are non-existent, and you can't operate it without one but if anyone would like me to program a remote with all the functions for this, just let me know and I'll sort something out!

I have a similar set and it too works very well.
They are making and selling more models of more types of device than ever, including the 533, and selling them through Argos as usual.
