screen is blocking the signal

i bought a projector a few days ago, the problem i have now is when the screen is down, it is in front of my amp etc, and now my remotes wont work as the screen is blocking the signal

i cant move the screen or the amp etc, so i am wondering if there is a little wire extender type thingy on the market to be able to sort it out ?

or would a sky magic eye do the trick

thanks

Yes, the Sky magic eye would work. You'd need to plug it into the "RF2 out" socket on the box. You get about a metre of wire with it - if you need more, then you'd have to use a bit of coax to extend the range.

Re: screen is blocking the signal

Sorry my mistake I thought I was still in the Sky hardware forum!

The RF2 is the output from the Sky+ / Sky HD boxes that allows you to connect another TV by coax cable. The idea of the Sky Magic Eye is that it connects at the back of the remote TV (say in the bedroom) and relays remote messages back down to the Sky box so you can change channel. It works by sending the converted IR nessages back down the coax cable to the Sky box, the RF2 output being specially designed to supply DC power to it.

In your circumstances this won't work, so I expect you'll need an IR repeater such as

Sorry!

Re: screen is blocking the signal

Then again, a smallish mirror on the side wall might work just as well!
