Using a Sony RHT G800 with a V+ remote

I can normally make sense of this sort of thing but I'm having a problem to get my new RHT G800 set up properly.

I think I've got all the cables coming from and going to the correct places and the system certainly works, just not the way I want it to.

Idealy I'd like to be able to control the volume (through the RHT) using my V+ remote, that way I used to do when it was just through the TV. I've tried all 4 of the Sony codes listed on the Virgin help feature but none work.

I'd be willing to compromise and use the RHT universal remote to control the V+ box (and my ps3) but the instructions are absolutely useless. Can anyone give me an idea how to do this?

Cheers
