Logitech Harmony 555 buttons not working?

I've noticed that the buttons on my logitech have become very hard to press and get a response. The play button takes 3 or 4 attempts before it registers the press (ie the display lights up, and the device plays).

This started on a couple of buttons and now its spreading to others, some click like they have activated, but don't actualy do anything unless you press the button again, and hard.

The remote is about 10 months old, and is only used to control the TV and Sky. Is this a common problem as I want something that lasts more than a year?

Are you sure that the input timing is right? Faster timing = faster button responses.
