X-10 control

Does the harmony 1000 or MX-980 control X-10 modules over RF? If not, what remotes do?

And also if not, does this mean you have to use IR and the X-10 IR module?

I can tell you for definite that the Pronto RU950, 960, 970, 980 & 990 work direct with X10. As do the Marantz RC5200, 5400, 9200 and 9500 (This is via the X10 TM13U/TM13U-AH transciever ) The US equivalents do not have the same RF frequency so do not work directly (they need the IR to X10 transceiver you mention).

I don't think the harmony 1000 does use the same RF and I'm not sure about the MX-980 and I'm not sure if either can control the IR to X10 transceiver.

You can also use all the older Pronto/Marantz models with the IR to X10 transceiver.

Hope that is of some help
