Harmony 885 or Harmony One?

The Harmony One is only £110 at Amazon.

Is it really annoying not having the 4 colour keys? The only thing I can think that I use them for is the V+.

Anyone have the One yet or would recommend the 885 over it?

Check out the Harmony One thread in this forum - there are loads of people who have it, and you can read up on everyone's views on whether they are bothered about the lack of coloured buttons or not.

chelsea.tone - as far as I know there is no version of the One with coloured buttons. You can add them to the touch screen but not hard buttons.

Check the price regularly - it was only £85 last week when I bought it, may well go down again in the near future.

It is at first, but then you realise you can easily assign the colour commands to spare hard buttons, and that works perfectly.
Colours are useful for UK teletext, and almost essential for digital receivers with EPGs and PVRs.

You might have seen the box the One comes in - that gives the impression it has real colour buttons.
All it actually means is that there are controls on the LCD screen for the colours.

They don't come as hard buttons but you can customise them to hard buttons.
For Sky+ for example they can be customised to buttons close to the other main controls, and are then better than on the original remote.

They can indeed - my point was that it doesn't come with colour hard keys as standard. Whether customising other hard keys to mimic the colour buttons is a benefit is down to the individual user (as has been discussed on the Harmony One thread): for me it wouldn't be as my wife would never remember them, far easier for me to have them on the touch screen where she can see them.

Re: Harmony 885 or Harmony One?

A touch of paint on the customised hard buttons would be my solution to that major problem.
This individual finds the screen too awkward and unreliable for anything that's used all the time.
