Re: Looking for One for All Remote

Another vote for the Harmony. I have a 655 and just installed a 555 for my sister and her hubby last week - I can't see past them when it comes to universal remotes - the units are great and their support is second to none.

The 555 is available here for £55.28 - well worth it and, in fact, you may even find it cheaper if you search around.

Cheers,

Martin.

I'd hang fire & hunt down a Logitech Harmony, I got a brand new 885 for £60 off here the other week

It looks good but that's about all that can be said for it.
The screen has a strange texture, and you have to use a coin to get in to the battery compartment.
One I had soon stopped working but I didn't bother to get it replaced.
Get a Harmony, a cheap 688 at Comet if you're lucky, otherwise splash out on a One - not just any old one!

Re: Looking for One for All Remote

Last questions I promise:

1) Will the 885 work my home cinema?

Have found this on e-bay and was wondering if this is the 885 as stated.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-LOGITECH-H...QQcmdZViewItem

As its a full 20 quid cheaper than what i can find in UK.

Re: Looking for One for All Remote

It says the 880 and 885 are the same - but they're not.

Re: Looking for One for All Remote

There are work arounds to enable the 880's for UK use, but I don't think as a Sky HD user I could manage without the coloured buttons. If you don't have Sky and don't use Teletext, then maybe the US model will be OK for you. HTH
