Question Hello peeps hoping your advice will continue my purchasing of home automation :o)

I'm going to be getting a Harmony 1000 remote for my birthday April 5th and wanted to get many other devices to use with it! I've hopefully found a website that will provide the require z-wave devices for lighting and control of my subwoofer. Will the following devices work with the above mentioned remote.

http://www.letsautomate.com/11144.cfm?

Now on this site i want the lamp, socket and dimming modules but i'm hoping the harmony will control these directly instead of a control module?

Would i need to buy the RF Extender to use the z-wave or can the remote do it anyway?

Thanks for your time and patience answering.

P.S if any of you have any ideas about what to control with this remote be my guess and add them

No you do not need the RF Extender to control the plugs etc... they all contain zwave receivers in their own right.

The choice of zwave devices in this country is limited but this will hopefully increase in time and hopefully get more comprehensive in type of devices too !

The RF Extender is just needed if you wish to control IR devices (AMP, DVD player etc) that are not in line of sight from the remote.

Oh and I use my Harmony mainly through the RF reciever as my AV equipment is in a cupboard...see sig.

I also have 2 plug sockets connect
a) one is for a water pump which I need to turn off now and again
b) other is for the sky box which needs to be rebooted now and again and saves me getting to the socket

friend uses two lamp sockets for dimming when he switches to movies...

Can you confirm that the Harmony 1000 is definitely compatible with Z-Wave - I've heard conflicting stories.

I've done some more digging including reading posts from the chap who runs letsautomate to say the 1000 does not use Z-Wave as planned. If this is the case can I ask what kind of sockets you have got to work with the RF extenders?

The new NEVO Q50 does have Z-Wave built in as an alternative to the Harmony 1000

But you can buy from the US (different Z-wave freq) much much cheaper try a search. 1000 does use Z-wave ut there are issues with 3rd part Z-wave devices the 895 is the much better alternative (dont worry bout the lack of touch scren its far better for not having one)
