Powermid with Sky +

Hi
Does anybody know if the powermid will work with the Sky + boxes. The fast forward etc.

Also would i have to buy an additional transmiitter for each room?

Thanks
in advance.

Re: Powermid with Sky +

yep should work fine.

Not sure what you mean by the 2nd question though. How is the picture transmitted to your other room/rooms. I presume you want to use powermid to control from other rooms or is it so you can hide the box away?

For occasional use with a small telly as long as you are happy with RF for the picture (mono sound) then I wouldn'y bother with a powermid, use a sky link whivh uses the RF cable to send remote commands.

Re: Powermid with Sky +

I have all the tellys linked via a rf distribution box in the loft. The sky is piped all around the house. So to change channels i have to phsically go to the sky box and change the channel there.I want the powermid so i can change the channels on the sky+ box when i'm in the other rooms and don't havt to get out of bed.

Thanks

Yep - I have powermid and it works great with my Sky HD box - wouldn't be without it!

Re: Powermid with Sky +

As I said Power mid will work great but if its just for sky and you use RF cables then SkyLink would probably be a better bet

You can get a by pass thing for distribution amplifiers which allows the SkyLink doodahs to work.

Or distribution amplifiers designed to work with sky link

see here for the amps

Re: Powermid with Sky +

All
Got the powermids and they are superb.

just another question what happens if you want to control another sky box via 2 rooms. How could you use additional powermids without affecting the other sky box?

Thanks

Re: Powermid with Sky +

No afraid not. Each receiver will get the same codes. so will control both boxs

A sky box and a sky+ box will use different codes so that will work but you couldn't have 2 normal or 2
+ boxs and control them seperately.

Re: Powermid with Sky +

I don't honestly know although I suspect they will all work together whatever the make. If you can check the frequency the other extender uses is different.

You could get a powermid from the USA which use a different frequency (technically not approved for use over here, but who's gonna know) and that would work seperately
