HELP - TC30 Software

Hi all.

I've got a lovely new Harmon Kardon TC30, looks great, but I changed my PC recently and although the software installs on the machine it freezes halfway on the splash screen (about 80% of the way along).

Running windows vista (!), but the old machine was and that was fine. I've de-installed, rebooted and re-installed a couple of times but to no avail.

Just changed my TV (Panny TH42-PZ70B - lovely!) and am about to buy a new amp (Onkyo TSR-605 or 705 I think) so unless I can get the remote working I won't be very happy

If anyone can give me any pointers would be dead handy. The remote itself appears to be working fine, just the pc connection that's knackered! All Items in control panel working fine, so it's not a dodgy USB port or similar.

Thanks folks!

I had the sme problem. I installed the Logitech software, uninstalled it and then installed the Harman Kardon software. For some reason that worked for me, for I never managed to figure out why.

BTW: I have almost the same stuff as you are about to get. Panny plasma and Onkyo 705.

Re: HELP - TC30 Software

Went down to the girlfriends at the weekend and installed the software on her machine - install went fine. It then went into the auto-device setup which I cancelled as already done, and managed to log on to the HK website with my previous ID. Then it goes to the activity list (teletext still to set up - de-selected this to cancel as not interested in setting that up just yet). I believe it's then supposed to diplay your homepage, but all I get is "Unable to display content" with a 'next' button which just takes you back to the adding activities section - bit of a vicious circle really.

Lovely remote, but useless at the moment - I can't remove my old philips TV nor add the new Panny.

Very very annoying.

Good to hear someone has the same setup - how's the Onkyo, look damn good to me for sure!!

I remember that when I previously had problems with the TC30 I simply called the support department of H-K and they were more than helpful. So if you are at a loss, try contacting them by phone on their support number (listed on the H-K website support pages).

BTW The 705 is excellent and until today it does exactly what I want it to do.
