Possible purchase of an all in one remote - but which one?

I have been considering replacing all the different remotes in the living room with an all in one remote control, but I have no idea what I am looking for, which one is best etc etc etc, so I am coming to you all with a request of help

I have the following devices to be controlled by the one remote

Samsung PS42Q96HD
Humax PVR9200TB
Sanyo SX25 DVD player ( soon to be replaced with an as yet unknown player)
Philips mini Hifi unit (not sure of the model at the moment)

and if possible, an xbox 360 - dvd functions (this one may is a long shot)

I'm looking to spend max £50 but will stretch the budget for the right one

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The Logitech 525 will quite happily control all of that for you. Should have change from £50 too.

Re: Possible purchase of an all in one remote - but which one?

Having worked my way through a number of universal remotes over the last few years, including models from marantz, philips, and all-in-one, I too can recommend the logitech remotes - easy to set up (as long as you have an internet connection) and very versatile. I have a number of esoteric devices which are controlled perfectly with the logitech.

Re: Possible purchase of an all in one remote - but which one?

having read another forum post regarding the harmony 525 I have been told it isnt as responsive as the humax remote when going through the menus? Can anyone confirm this?

How easy is it to map all of the main functions of the humax remote? How much time should I be looking at to get it up and running?

I also notice that this remote uses 4 AAA/AA batteries - how long will I get out of these as I have seen some responses saying I should only expect 2-3 weeks per set of batts

In any case I've also done a search and found this remote for £41.41 at ebuyer.com
