Logitech Remotes and Coloured Buttons

Hi All,

I'm just in the process of selecting which logitech version of the harmony remote to purchase, and have been reading that the 1000 has problems with the coloured buttons needed for such thinkgs as teletext and more importantly Virgin V+ and Sky HD

I'm not worried about the cost, I just want the best remote, but on the 525 there are no coloured buttons as standard on the remote, but on the 555 and the 785 there are (that seems like a good thing to me), then they disappear again on the 885 and 895...

If you look at my signature and the equipment I have (I know it won't help me with the PS3), can somebody else with equipment like mine tell me which remote they have and which works..

As I'm a bit wary of now purchasing a remote without the coloured buttons...

Also as another quick question, as all the buttons on all the other remotes are different, how do you remember which buttons on your Harmony do what action, is this a memory exercise, or is it quite straight forward..

The 895 does have the coloured buttons.

Re: Logitech Remotes and Coloured Buttons

I have the 525 & 885 and can confirm they both have coloured buttons. Sometimes the pic put up is the American version which doesn`t have the coloured buttons.

Re: Logitech Remotes and Coloured Buttons

yep I'm looking at the logitech uk website, and there is no hint of a coloured button on some of the remotes....

so can I safely assume that all models above the 525 have coloured buttons ?

then I can just take my pick of them...

The uk ones do.

Of my two i much prefere the 885. Mainly for tactile reasons, and better (imo) layout of the buttons.

Re: Logitech Remotes and Coloured Buttons

I've got a 525. Definately has coloured buttons. Have them all programed to go with my V+ & my 360.

I have the 525 and its a Winner!

The main fixed buttons on the remote are all labelled and reflect the buttons that you might normally use such as info, guide menu, exit etc. The LCD features any other functions that you might use and can be customised by the user.

The 525 is really very good value for money.

Re: Logitech Remotes and Coloured Buttons

I would also recommend the 555, a great remote that should work with all your kit, although the 525 is cheaper if it meets your needs.
