Universal and discrete codes??

Quick query.

I know it is possible to enter discrete codes for a particular piece of equipment (eg:- Plasma on, Plasma off) into the fancier remotes such as the Pronto. These codes can be obtained from the equipment manufacturer direct, or even from Remote Central I am told.

Can this be done with any of the cheaper remotes such as the Harmony 895?
Or does one need the New Harmony 1000 touch screen.

Thanks, Gerald.

Re: Universal and discrete codes??

All Harmonys use the same database, so they'll all have access to the same discretes.

You can add a discrete to the Harmony database if you can get it in Pronto hex format, however the Harmony database is so comprehensive it's highly unlikely you'll need to...99% of the time you'll find the discretes are already in there.

Re: Universal and discrete codes??

You could try downloading the setup software from the Logitech site. You used to be able to set up an account without a remote to try out the programming, but I'm not sure if this is still possible...install it and have a look.
