having got a philips sru 9400 universal remote I find it cannot recognise my pioneer dvr 530hs dvd recorder,it sees it as a vcr meaning that all functions are not available. Now the remote on my yamaha ysp800 speaker has also failed and the philips does not recognise this either. The ir codes are not given in either manual and neither device is listed on the remote central website. Does anyone have any info on these mdels or am I have to buy remotes from pioneer and yamaha,the devices are designated as pioneer vxx2969 and yamahawf72990.

i can't believe that the pronto doesn't have these devices in the database.

remember, you don't need to find your exact model number, most manufacturers use the same codeset for their devices.

I was hoping to get four figure digits to enter into the remote,the letters and numbers supplied on those websites are for individual operations and mean nothing to me I'm afraid.

This converter will help you convert the Yamaha codes into more meaningful raw hex codes you can enter into your pronto. It may well work for the Pioneer codes too.
