Harmony One setup with PS3 and LED lighting system

Hi folks,

I hope someone can help me. I've been using my Harmony almost since it was released but now I have changed some of my equipment and it has made things just a little more complicated.

I bought a Logic3 USB remote control and I would like to utilise it's functions so that I can use it with my PS3 (yes, I know it doesn't power it off but this doesn't at all bother me).

In addition, I would like to connect my Apollo LED lighting system which is also remote controlled and link them to the one activity. So, an activity for watching a blu ray movie would consist of:

TV
AV receiver
PS3
Apollo LED lighting

What is the simplest method to deal with this using the one activity? Do I have to manually enter all the controls or is there an easier way? Apologies but I really hate the Harmony software. It can get really messy because they have tried to over-simplify things (if that makes sense!)

Thanks all

A Play Game Activity with the lighting as an Additional Device is a normal thing to have - haven't you tried that?
I don't know whether a PlayDVD Activity would accept the games machine as the player but you could try it instead.

Yes I have an activity already set up but currently none of the controls work because they are all configured for the PS3 which don't work. I need all the controls except the volume to default to the Logic3 USB dongle. Is there an easy way of doing this? I only want to use a couple of the buttons for the lighting so I am quite happy to manually select them. I just wanted to know if there was another way to get all the controls to default to the Logic3 USB dongle when I select the PS3 Activity. Thanks

Sure - you can Customise any button to any device that's in the Activity - let me know if you want the location - Logi.

Hi logi

Is there a away I can get the Logic3 USB remote controller to control ALL PS3 buttons when I push the 'watch blu ray' activity? I'm just wondering is there a quicker way of doing it rather than having to manually select everything. I could then customise a few buttons manually to work with the LED lighting system.

Thanks!

Hi. That's why I mentioned the types of Activity. If you can get a PlayDVD Activity to accept the device for playing DVDs then its commands will be allocated automatically. If you can only have a Game Activity then you do have to Customise its commands. That's not a long job though, and once it's done, it's done! Logi

Re: Harmony One setup with PS3 and LED lighting system

Great point! I never thought of using the different activity! I will do that and then customise the buttons for the lighting system. I do not need to use the PS3 as the primary activity. Thank you!
