What is the time delay when using an Ir Distribution solution?

Hi,

I'm pretty happy with my Sky+HD remote, the menus are very responsive to the point where as soon as I've hit the remote button, the options is selected.

My query is, when using IR distribution, through either Magic Eye or some Marmitek solution, is there a time delay between hitting the remote button and the actual action being relayed to the Sky box?

To be clear, a time delay of 0.5 seconds after the keypress does not sound good.

Thanks for any advice,

Bazza.

The remotes work OK with Powermids - what problem are you finding with "delays"?

No problems, yet, I'm just trying to work out which system is the "fastest" before I purchase.

What makes you think that some systems will be slower at repeating IR codes?

Well I've only tried a powermid and the RF extender for my Pronto. Neither suffered from any noticeable delays in use.

They all work at 300,000km/sec so there shouldn't be much delay.
