Question Logitech Harmony 515 - Sony Amp - sluggish volume control

Evening all,

I have a Logitech Harmony 515 which controls the volume via my Sony A/V receiver (SONY STR-DH800).

The problem is when controlling the volume on the Harmony the amp responds sluggishly and very delayed (for instance about 5 times longer, and I can hold the volume decrease button for 5 secconds and it will take a further 10 seconds to catch up.

When using the A/V's own remote control it behaves fine and increases/decreases the volume very quickly.

If I remember correctly I think the harmony increased and decreased the volume fine when I started it, but since then has got worse.

I'm going to make it relearn the volume commands to see if that helps. Was just wondering if anyone had experienced similar and what they did to fix it?

Any ideas?

Hi. if you "learn" the commands do it in the Custom mode, and don't do it to the actual commands - select MyNewCommand and rename it first.

Re: Logitech Harmony 515 - Sony Amp - sluggish volume control

Ah, upon looking in the remote software it seems I had made my remote "learn" the vol up/down initially, the rest are all set to database. Maybe I should have made it use the database setting to begin with, not sure why I didn't. I had to make it relearn the commands since I couldn't see an option to use the database.

Good news is that it is now as responsive as the original remote. Hopefully it will remain that way.

OK, then you don't need to add the device again which would be the only way to get back to the database entry.
It's a good rule to follow, not to "learn" over the default commands, but to use renamed MyNewCommand instead.
