You certainly struck lucky when the 1000 developed that problem!

Not really i've gone through 2 which had exactly the same problem, both were fine for the first 3-4 mths and then developed the runnaway volume/buttons. Not acceptable when you have expensive amplifiers.

Given how close the 2 models are in spec, i think Logitech should have given 1000 owners an upgrade option .....especially when the 1100 is basically a 'fixed' 1000. I honestly felt like a beta tester at times & with the companies flagship unit.

Logitech support is 10/10 but they dropped the ball a little with that unit.

They know the many faults of the 1000, but you acknowledge that you now have a much superior device, despite the hassles you went through!

I've had the same problem with the volume button and freezing issues for months now. I'm at my wits end with it. I've sent them email today asking what they can do for me (as my 1000 is out of warranty now :-(

You've had it more than two years? Even then the Sale of Goods Act might help you.

They should sort you out, i had a Z5500 speaker set which were out of warranty and they replaced them.

They are about the best out there for that kind of thing, unheard of these days really.

Well you are right - I was blown away. They are sending me a 1100 to replace my 1000, even though it is out of warranty. What great service from Logitech!
Will have to set everything up again, but that's a small price to pay..

I forgot to add a question. I have a new Sky (Samsung) HD box. What should I select in Harmony's list. It shows Samsung as well as Sky and Sky Digital.
According to my EPG my model is Samsung 0.7.070.
Should I just put that in?

There's an option for Sky HD but I recommend using the Manufacturer and Model number as usual - under PVR of course.
If you have any problem enter mine - it works perfectly and the commands are supposed to be the same through all makes.

hi folks,

quick question - can you do 'sequences' with the 1100 like you could with the 1000? i had sequences set up to get me to HD channels/planner/other channels on my 1000 but dont see the same option in the software for the1100

Cheers,
Mick

Hiya Mick - the reason you don't see the option is that it's not there, and it's the same with the new 900. If you feel strongly about it there's a petition on Logitech's forum to have it added to them, somehow. Logi

Just a quick one.....

Misco are offering £50 cash back on their price of £299.99, so as long as you get the cheque, a 1100 is £249.99. (not as good as the older offer from Play, but the best price I've seen recently)

Offer expires on the 31st of August, so not long left

I'm getting annoyed trying to get the Xbox to properly shutdown and power up!

It seems to work 10% of the time... the other 90% of the time, I have to use "Help / power off" to fix it. So it obviously 'can' power it no problems... hmmmmmmmm :S

Quick question. I have a plasma and a projector. Is it possible to set the remote up so that I can decide if I want to watch a bluray on the plasma or the projector with a simple 1-click operation?

Thanks
Gordie

That's the sort of thing that all Harmonys do as a matter of course.

Cool, with my old Pronto, I needed to manually set this up, which took ages.

Next question: My Panasonic TV requires you to press & hold the power button to turn it on (which my pronto cannot do), can the Harmony handle this?

Thanks
Gordie

re: Logitech Harmony 1100 Topics - Part Two

A couple of minutes to set up each device from the massive database of makes and models, a couple more each to combine them into Activities the way you want (in your case - specify which device is to display video, the TV or the PJ) - that's it.
The "duration" that most Pana TVs need on their Power-On command is built into the database entry in most cases, and in the few exceptions will immediately be added on request by Logitech support.

Given the availability of codes, is it possible to use the harmony 1100 as a region hack remote oh for, say a sony rdr-hxd890 as an esample ;-)

re: Logitech Harmony 1100 Topics - Part Two

Sorry, me again ...

The volume up/down delays using the 1100 with my Sony 2400es amp are driving me mad! Are there ways of changing this - and indeed reducing global delays easily?

Finally, if I want the 1100 to ensure my TV input but NOT mess with the power (I like to turn it fully off at night) any ideas?

apologies if I'm missing the obvious.

re: Logitech Harmony 1100 Topics - Part Two

You're always very welcome.
Belatedly, if you can do the hack thing with an original remote you can do it with a Harmony.
The delays are all together at - would you believe - Devices> Adjust Delays.
I don't think any will make any difference to volume controls though, as it's the "hold" function on them that controls how fast they work.
As that's such a problem you'd better ask Logitech support what they can do to fix it.
If you want the Harmony not to do its automatic tricks, including powering, you can always set the appropriate command to be "none".
In this case you'd go to - yes - Devices> Adjust Power.

That's OK - Logitech don't make these things at all obvious for the user.
Feel free to ask if anything else comes up - Logi

Okay, just phones Logitech - a bit scary to hear a guy listing your home cinema kit to you! Anyway, told him about the problem with delay on inc/dec volume of my Sony STR-DA2400ES and he has escallated it to 2nd line. I'll let you know if anything comes of it ...

Thanks,

re: Logitech Harmony 1100 Topics - Part Two

Hi and welcome back - I wondered where you'd gone.
You ARE a very lucky guy to have an excuse - er, reason - for getting a 1100 for 1000 exchange - it's much better.
The 1100 naturally enough won' t take over from all the models with the completely different format, but it's a bit rough if it can't take over from a 1000.
If you find it can't - and probably anyway - I'll be waiting for your enquiries.
