Virgin V+ as a PVR

I have Virgin V+ box. This may seem a silly question but is it possible to use this as a PVR without the Virgin input. In other words if I drop Virgin Media could I still use the box?

No.

I would think in accordance with all other 'closed platform' devices such as this, that they will possess the switch which allows you access to all your existing recorded programmes also... so once you cease paying, you would loose those too.

They'll take the box back as you don't own the equpment like you do with Sky.
