The sky box has a vcr scart just plug the video sender receiver in there or a spare scart on the TV

Re: digi sender from digi recorder to main tv

Thanks, i have a video/ dvd player in the second scart, so i could just swap them when i needed to watch something from the digi sender and swap them back to watch a dvd? I have on of those multi scart things but i dont use it would a be able to use it in this instance and keep the digi receiver plugged in at the same time as my video/dvd player without interferrence from each other?

The sender can be in either scart both have the right outputs. If you are using the second scart use the vcr scart on the Sky Box. With the Sky box off the signal will go through to the TV. With it on you will have to press source on the sky remote to watch the video sender.

I presume your Video/ DVD player must have an empty scart... If so you can plug the sender into there and use the pass-through of both the DVDR and Sky to feed to where you want it.

[ Pass through will occur when both devices are OFF [ Standby] ]

Yes - sorry - Just a slip of nomenclature on my part.

If the socket is available - it will work.

So i have to have both my sky box and dvd player on standby if i put the scart for the receiver in the spare scart of the dvd player?

Re: digi sender from digi recorder to main tv

Lets just hope the video sender you choose will give interference-free pics and sound. The 2.4GHz ones use the same band as Wi-Fi etc.,. Mine is effectively useless.

Newer models are on a 5GHz band, I believe and may be better.

No you don't you can connect the receiver to the vcr scart of either the Sky Box or the DVD player if they both have 2 scart sockets. Whichever one you connect to if the box is off the vcr scart is routed to the TV scart and on to the TV if its switched on. If it's turned on (say its the Sky box) you watch the Sky Box or the Video Sender by pressing the Source button on the Sky remote. You don't need to unplug anything. All the selection is done by chhosing which scart to watch using the TV remote and by using sky remote source button assuming you chain the scarts via the sky box

Re: digi sender from digi recorder to main tv

Apologies to handbaggirl here. grahamlthomson and myself appear to be giving you conflicting information... although we are not really... but it may be confusing you.

I suggested the method of pass-through [ both devices OFF] , thinking it would be simplest for you you. grahamlthomson is informing you of the option to 'feed-through' which is a different way of achieving your objective.
Both are acceptable.
You can use either method... whichever you find convenient.

Re: digi sender from digi recorder to main tv

thanks for your help, ive seen a sender and although its a 2.4gh we dont have wifi or an xbox or any other thing like that so i think i will go for putting it into the empty scart on the video if that doesnt work out i will take the video scart out of the sky box and put my receiver in there instead, i hope to order it today, as there is 80 hrs of recording time on my freeview recorder going to waste as i dont really watch much tv upstairs, but it will be nice to know i can use the recording space and view it downstairs

Thanks for all the advice. My sender came today and 10 mins later i was able to do exactly what i wanted, I would definatly recommend this sender, wee bit of interference when i walked past it but now my upstairs freeview recorder is no longer a waste of recording space.
