HUMAX FOXSAT-HDR PVR: Lost Channel 102

I seem to have deleted Channel 102, I don't know how. Now, if I key in 102, the channel being watched does not change. It has also gone from List etc. Is there a way of restoring it please? I know there is access via later numbers but this one is the most convenient.

Not certain about this but based on previous posts if a freesat channel is manually deleted it stays deleted even after a channel scan (to avoid having to repeat the deletions). A factory reset mau be needed to get them all back

Is this the same as a re-set please?

No you can scan for channels using Freesat Tune. A Factory Reset starts as if you were first switching on the box (You have to renter your postcode). You won't lose any recordings but will have to restore your recording schedule and any non freesat channels you may have added. I don't think a Freesat tune will restore your missing channel but no harm in giving it a try.

Thanks for comments. A reset worked well except the instruction to observe postcode spaces is confusing. It set its own spaces including one after the first two letters, not normal practice.

I've just bought one of these and am most interested to learn what you mean by adding non Freesat channels. How can I do this please? I've been using a box and have noticed that a number of the channels I was able to receive via that aren't available via my Humax. Incidentally, the image quality doesn't appear to be quite as good.

If you go into Menu/Setup/Manual Tune (transponder all) and click on search that will add all the fta channels from the Astra / Eurobird to the non freesat channel list and also leave you in Non Freesat Mode. Be prepared for a long list of channels (a lot of them garbage) you will also get an Extra HD channel (Luxe HD). If you now goto Menu/Settings you will have an extra option STB Mode using this you can switch between Freesat and Non Freesat Modes. Be aware that adding/moving/deleting non freesat channels deletes your freesat recording reservations. Just switching between modes and watching/recording non freesat is fine though. Some SD channels on Sat (notably ITV 1) are markedly inferior to Freeview (ITV 1 on satellite 544 x 576 pixels, on Freeview 704 x 576 pixels - A roughly 20% loss in picture info). BBC1 is 720 x 576 pixels on both (Same as a PAL DVD).
I always watch SD using Freeview.

Re: HUMAX FOXSAT-HDR PVR: Lost Channel 102

Many thanks Graham I've done that and then deleted unwanted channels of which there were many.

On the subject of SD picture quality, I've tried replacing the connection to my 42" Panasonic PX70 from the cheapo HDMI lead supplied to the medium price SCART I used with my Sky box and am delighted to discover that the PX has improved significantly.

I'm now feeling much happier about my purchase
