My new set up is a Sony 32v4000 with a Hitachi DTR 162 Hard Disk Recorder.
With my old TV, switching on the PVR actually switched the TV on as well. This does not now happen and the TV remote has to be used before anything appears.

Secondly, although the PVR works perfectly alongside the TV, when it is playing back, I cannot remove an annoying "AV2" icon in the top left hand corner, to which the eye is drawn.
The manual says this only appears "briefly", but I cannot get rid of it.
Any similar experiences or fixes will be gratefully received.
