Humax Remote

Love my new Humax 9300, but don't love the remote.

I'd be very interested to know what remote other people use with it, as I could be tempted to get another one to use with all my other equipment.

Thanks

Re: Humax Remote

I have a 9200T and use a Harmony One, excellent device and much better than the Harmony 525 that I had before. In theory, all the Harmony Remotes have the same basic functionality (you need a PC or Mac) to set them up. The 525 always seemed a bit cheap to me, rubber buttons etc. and the 'blue' button never worked with the Humax. It eventually died after about 2 years of use and I decided to go with the Harmony One as a replacement about 6 months ago. I have been very happy with the Harmony One, build quality and general feel is much better, I thought £130 was a lot for a remote at the time but it can be had for under £100 now and has a gorgeous colour display and a charging dock, (so I should see my money back on batteries after about 10 years )

All the Harmony remotes have very broad product support base. I use it with all my kit, including an appleTV and even a Joytech component switch box!

Also don'y worry about the lack of coloured buttons on the remote as these appear as 'soft' buttons on the colour screen when set up to operate the humax.

I recommend you check out the Logitech Harmony website

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/re.../3898&cl=gb,en

but don't buy from them (£159 ) as Amazon, for example, are selling them for £95 .

Re: Humax Remote

If you don't want to fork out for a Harmony (I did myself and ended up not using it, don't like multi-gadget remotes), last year someone on this forum or Digital Spy got a remote made for the Humax from this eBayer (but there are none there at the mo, however you could contact him). It cost about £12.

eBay UK Shop - FREEVIEW: REMOTE, CONTROL, GOODMANS

I actually sent my Humax back, partly because of the remote control, partly because it kept missing the starts from progs - and at the time it was £230, so it should have performed

Re: Humax Remote

clemenzina, thanks for that, I'll keep an eye on that seller.

The Harmony remotes are going for 69.99 on Amazon at the moment but they do seem over complicated.

Re: Humax Remote

There is also this place... who seem to have everything up to the 9200t but currently not the 9300t.... but have a feedback system to inform you if and when.

Re: Humax Remote

The 9200T and the 9300T use the same Humax remote control.

Re: Humax Remote

Thanks Gavtech and ROYOLD, but your links are for replacement remotes that are identical to the originals. Mine works OK I just don't like it's layout.

Re: Humax Remote

Didn't want to pay too much so went for a One for All URC-7781, impressed so far.
