Humax 8000t on it's way out........

I have been using a Humax 8000T for 2 or 3 years now, with relatively few problems, excepting freezing now and again and loosing all my recording schedule data! It is proving a bit unreliable and I would like a twin tuner machine and wonder if the Humax 9300 range (or alternative) will suffice, offering better picture / audio quality? I would appreciate people's comments very much. Cheers.

There is very little room for improvement in PVR's as regards picture and audio quality because they are effectively 'transparent' recording devices... i.e. You get out exactly what you put in...so the only place where differences could be found would be in output circuitry for delivery to the display device... and very little difference can be expected to be found there... even extending to the pointlessness of putting HDMI in SD devices which seems to occur now in some units.

So you might want to consider change on the basis of reliability / convenience / operability perhaps, according to the experiences of others, but I would not have thought that quality differences could be a driving factor.

Thanks Gavtech - the Humax 9300 series with the two digital tuners seems the way to go then.
