Humax PVR-9300T HDMI Problems

Just bought myself a Humax PVR-9300T. I'm very impressed with it apart from I can't get my Sony 32S300 TV to work with it via HDMI. I've tried switching both off and changing the order of powering up but without luck. Of course it works fine through the scart lead.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Re: Humax PVR-9300T HDMI Problems

Are you saying its not working even if you manually select the relevant HDMI channel i.e. nothing happening on that input or just that it won’t auto switch.

If it’s the latter then its not uncommon for auto switching not to take place on certain TV's and manual intervention is required.

Re: Humax PVR-9300T HDMI Problems

Thanks Ascari, it's not that I'm expecting it to auto switch, it doesn't work even when I manually switch to the correct AV input.

Have you tried a different HDMI lead?

Have you taken out the scart lead, as I think it don't work with both in at the same time.

Thanks for that, unplugged the scart and away it went. Annoyingly I did try that when I first got it but it didn't work, seems like you have to set it up with the scart and switch to HDMI after.

Unhappy Re: Humax PVR-9300T HDMI Problems

I've had my Humax pvr about 3 months and having similiar problems. Got it connected to my Panasonic via HDMI. I usually switch on panasonic then Humax wait nearly 1 min (is this normal?) until it boots up and eventually switches on.

Unfortunately now I have to try several times before it works. The Humax is on but the TV doesn't show it on screen. Even if I go to tv and set it to display HDMI input, it still doesn't work. I have to turn everything off and about 3rd attempt it works.

It's times like these I miss the sky+ box that fired immediately and I didn't miss a thing between digital tv and Sky channels.

Other problems that have started - forgets to record pre-set series of programmes that I've set or says recording failed. Also, the other day I clicked record button while watching a programme went off to do something else, only to discover it was still recording that same channel next morning Will check other threads to see if anyone else is having these problems.

I had a Humax 9300T for about month with both Scart and HDMI connected without any problems. The HDMI was connected via my Onkyo 507 for main viewing and I used the Scart connection for just watching the News etc during the day when I didn't want to power up the whole system.

I did end up returning it as I problems with the HDD and also got fed up waiting for the EPG to populate, could vary from 5mins to 20mins on a bad day.
