Anyone used them before? Seem quite a bit cheaper for things and was just wondering if they are legit?

Cheers

Re: pvrempire.co.uk

They appear to specialise in refurbished goods [ i.e. returns] so tread carefully.

Re: pvrempire.co.uk

I bought a refurbished Digihome PVR from them just a few weeks ago. I like the old Vestel-clone PVRs, wanted a spare, and thought £50 (inc "free" delivery) was very fair. Payment, delivery etc worked like a charm, as does the actual machine. As with everything else in this world, nothing is guaranteed, but I'd say they are an above-board outfit.

I second this, DO NOT use this company, they dont reply to any emails and phone calls, i bought a faulty dvd recorder from them which i had to send back at my cost and now have not recieved any refund or replacement, it was sent back at the beginning of april and i now am out of pocket with no dvd recorder either!
i have contacted trading standards who say the only action i can now take is small claims court
dont use them, they look like a bargain and if your lucky enough to get a good working product your quids in but like me you may very well be ripped off
they also trade as ELECTRONIC ERA LTD (birmingham) and also trade on ebay user name of BATGAINEMPIRE
they do surprisingly have ok feedback but maybe have ben lucky or people left feedback before giving the goods a few weeks....

dhemel - I have heavily edited your post as it doesn't comply with the forum rules and we can't allow defamatory posts to remain in the public domain - especially from people posting anonymously like yourself.

I must admit I hold strong views regarding the basic rules of commerce - you part with your money in exchange for desired goods.
pvrempire.co.uk do not exactly follow this rule to the letter and I, for one, will stay well clear of them in the future!

I didn't quite understand the 'anonymous' bit - I don't see anybody else signing their posts with their names and addresses. I didn't post as a guest - I created an account!

EBayer buyers have PayPal protection - Batgain Empire's feet wouldn't touch if they treated eBay customers the way they've treated you

Did you by any chance pay them by credit card or Visa debit card? You could be in luck if so.

Pvrempire

I agree do not use this company, I agree with everything that has been said, I bought a freeview box for 49.99 for my grandad for the switch over and it is faulty, I have sent several emails and tried ringing several times a day and it is constantly engaged. I have now sent an email threatening to sue because it has now been over 2 months and still no reply.

At best this is terrible customer service at worst it is a big scam that takes advantage of people who can't afford brand new (though they do advertise their goods as grade A)

£50 is a lot to my grandad so I'm going to foot the bill, but I just wanted everyone to know not to use this company.

I have never joined a forum before, but this was the only way to get my message out there.

PVRempire, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Exactly what model did you buy Shaz? Some PVRs have good support forums, there's a small chance it can be made to work. Mind you, I've got one myself that's useless despite my best efforts.
