Replacing VCR feeding multiple TV's

I currently use a VCR to output the RF Signal using coax cable to multiple Tv's around the House viewing Terrestrial Channels 1 to 5 with Channel 6 being whatever is on the Virgin STB. I'm thinking of replacing the old VCR with a Sony HXD890 which i know from viewing threads in this forum has no RF Modulator built in. If i use one of the outputs from the 890 fed into a standalone RF Modulator will i see the 5 No Terrestrial Channels as well as the Virgin STB? I'm not too worried about a perfect picture and mono sound it's only for TV to fall asleep to.

I have seen that maplin do an RF Module would this work okay?

Any help on this would appreciated before i buy the sony unit.

I've never actually used a standalone RF Modulator but I would assume they feed through all RF signal signals fed through them if they have an RF input as well as AV inputs.

You could even try feeding the Sony TV Scart output through your VCR and utilise the RF Modulator in the VCR. You presumably know whether the VCR retains all the RF signal into it and feeds these to it's RF output when set to a mode which outputs its RF Modulated signal to the RF output.

They certainly do have an rf input here's one

UHF Modulator TV/CCTV/ Home Cinema/Camera /New design on eBay, also, CCTV Security Cameras, Security Equipment, Consumer Electronics (end time 04-Mar-09 19:34:24 GMT)

You need to choose a channel nos for the modulator that is as far away as possible from the 5 analogue and 6 digital uhf channels used by your local transmitter
