Lightbulb Advice on Multi region DVD/VCR combo

Hi everyone,

I was hoping you guys will be able to help me out. A recent power surge has blown up my DVD/VCR combo (well the DVD side only) and TV. After searching around for about a month I finally managed to get a decent TV for a reasonable price but now I have to replace the combo.

What I am after is;
Multi region
Ability to play AVI/mpeg etc
Ability to play all CD/DVD types
Front sockets for plugging in TV games for occasionally nostalgic gaming.

For as cheap as possible really. I have HDMI, Component and Scart available on the TV. Things like Hard drives, SD slots and digital tuners are not needed as I have a digital tuner/recorder and also a digital tuner in the tv (and no SD cards to plug in).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Advice on Multi region DVD/VCR combo

You also don't need a combi - as the VCR part of your existing combi still works, and combis cost far more than a standalone DVD recorder. Having separate DVD and VCR is also much more flexible than having an all-in-one - i.e. you will be able to record much more with separate machines connected by scart rather than using a combi.
