Vaova dtv-2950hdd

This offering from Maplins looked a good buy, but it may be going back if I can't fix the problems below.

It has wierd habits:

1. ALL My TV's and freeview boxes tune to Winter Hill, as I have a large new digital area pointing to WinterHill. (North West of My House). This box has tuned to West Midlands (BBC West Midlands local news) The reception is diabolical (Blocking).

How can I fix this?

2. I can't seem to get it to record except "Instant Record"

3. What is a good reasonably priced (Under £150) twin tuner PVR that won't give me this hassle!!!!!

Preferably NOT from Argos, as all their PVR's are exempt from 30 day moneyback, and if I have similar problems - it will be going back!

Thanx - Dave

They cant stop you bringing a product back that is not functioning as it is advertised. They have no moral or legal basis for refusing product returns. unless its something like underpants or a kidney. This device looks like cheapjackshit if you ask me. I read usb port and freeview PVR but input USB only.....bargpole not long enough!

I'm not a lover of Argos, but I bought mine from there because if you have a problem they give an instant refund. So if your PVR doesn't work as it should you will get a refund without any hassle, couldn't say the same about Currys.

Unless the reception software / operating system has some method for controlling or manually tuning - which it probably does not... then you will have to remove the aerial for the first part of the scan when scanning for channels.

All the Winter Hill muxes appear within the range of UHF Channels 56 to 68, which is right toward the end of the band... so reconnect your aerial after a scan is somewhat over halfway through.
