3 weeks ago I purchased a HUMAX 9300. I've linked it up via scart to me DVD Recorder and TV with the aerial linked as follows:

Aerial - SKY - DVR Recorder - HUMAX - TV

Initially I was convinced that the picture quality of the digital channels on the DVD recorder, HUMAX and TV was great. Since yesterday I've noticed problems on certain channels on the TV (ITV, S4C, C4 and E4) - the quality is very poor and the picture breaks ups. No such problems occur on the HUMAX and DVD Recorder. Connecting the aerial directly to the TV or removing the HUMAX from the mix removes the problem with the TV reception.

Can anyone think of anything I can do to fix the problem.

You need a distribution amplifier with outputs for each bit of kit. These are widely available - prices around £20/30.

What you can try is one aerial splitter as follows:

Aerial splitter ouput 1: Sky - DVD Recorder - TV
Aerial splitter ouput 2: Humax

See if that works. If it does'nt then Phlog's solution is best.

Is your TV analogue or Freeview / Analogue?

It could be a case of too much signal after the amplification done by the Humax.

We had to fit an atenuator after rewiring and replacing our RF system.

TV is analogue/ digital. I'll try the set up you suggest.
