Most PVRs are fairly simple to operate, provided they're set up properly, and the signal is satisfactory - but recording a programme is never going to be a matter of pressing one button, though 2 or 3 at most is norm for most PVRs. The sequence for most PVRs is:

1. Press button for EPG
2. Select channel & programme to record using arrow buttons
3. Press record button
4. Exit EPG by presssing EPG button again.

OK, I'm a liar, and there were 4 steps, but still fairly easy!

I am still using a VCR, but my stb's epg has one click on a future programme then it will auto-switch to it when it starts. I would imagine PVR's do or at least could do the same?

As this is a PVR question, it's going to the PVR forum. Moving >>>>>>>>>>>

Ok thanks for moving

righto then, having never had a decent pvr which is the best one to buy and the easiest to operate (WAF I mean). picture quality is a must and 5.1 would be nice

Re: Is there a good freeview + box out there

No Freeview channels transmit 5.1 audio.

The favourites seem to be the Topfield or Humax PVR's, but there are a few cheaper models that recommended on here. do a bit of a search of the forum for the models.

Mark.
