Hi everyone

just got my 81 year old Grandfather a HUMAX 9300T and he is well pleased!
the fan is noisy as hell, but he isnt bothered as when i put the 720 setting for the resolution on, he was AMAZED by the Picture Quality over all his other rubbishy boxes he has previously owned, he owned a SAGEM, HITACHI AND THOMSON....but he likes his new Humax

my main problem is this, when he presses the volume up and down on the remote control for the Humax, NOTHING happens!!
he has to use his TV remote to change the Volume

he has a 32" SONY LCD and its connected to the Humax via the HDMI sockets using the cable provided with the Humax itself

can anyone tell me a step by step procedure on exactly how i get the Volume to work, what have i done wrong?

another bonus is that when we took his FAULTY Hitachi Box back to Argos for the 2nd time, he got a refund of £100 and decided to pay the extra £30 and get the 160GB Humax as it was £129.99, when we got out the shop we realised they had given us the Humax 9300T for that price, it should have been £199.99 !!!! RESULT !!!!!

great price . but the volume problem has been issued to humax, and i am not sure what they will do. but it is recormended that you leave the volume on the humax at full and controll the volunme using the tv. enoying yes i know.
so you have done nothing wrong

an update was sent over the air but finnished yesterday at 10 am so sadly you missed it, this was to stop the fan working at full blast all the time. but humax will send it out again, info on that will be posted here just have to wait a while

i have exactly the same problem on my Humax pvr (volume control has simply stopped responding).
did you ever fix your problem?! did an over the air update fix it?
it's a good device but this is a really annoying bug.

Check you have not used the vcr scart rather than the TV scart. Because the vcr scart is designed for recording from it's a fixed volume output.

this fixed it immedialtely - bit dum of me to use the wrong scart out.
