hi all ive got a topfield 5800 pvr getting delivered and im wondering the best way to connect it through my amp (onkyo tx-sr604e) i dont want to run another 3 meter scart to my tv from the pvr so is it possible to use a scart from the pvr to component on the amp and a optical cable from pvr to amp.
if i can and this is the best connection can someone point me in the direction of a decent scart to component cable new or used and not to expensive.

Get a scart to component adaptor then use a standard component cable. Remember to switch to component on the scart output. Tip add a composite connection to the amp. Reason if you have to do a reset you can't see the output, simply select the composite input until you have reset the scart from RGB to component. You might need a scart to scart connector to reverse the end of the scart lead to connect the adaptor

I use a Profigold scart to component cable; you can get them from various places - futureshop.co.uk is one - just type Topfield into the search box on the front page.

I use the Scart to Component aswell and highly recomend it. Into my amp and then into the TV.
BUT make sure that you change the setting in the settings to YuV (i think) before you plug it in as you wont be able to see any picture.
Alot of people have fallen for that problem.

Just looked on the site and i can only find a 5m cable, they used to do 1m and 3m.
