PVR out to analogue

Hi, hope someone can help.

I have a Sony RDR-HD870 PVR which plays recordings fine by scart cable to our main TV. I also want to be able to play recordings to a TV in the kitchen about 7 metres away. At the moment I have a direct aerial connection coming to a socket behind the main TV which I split, one to the PVR and one to the kitchen TV, that all works fine too.

I want to be able to output PVR recordings onto this cable to send to the other TV but I'm not sure how to do it. As far as I can tell, none of the analogue outputs on the PVR send the playback. obviously there's the scart and hdmi output but the analogue out just forwards the standard aerial signal if there's an analogue in (which there isn't) and the digital out seems to forward on the aerial signal from the digital in.

I could of course be missing something but it seems to me there's no obvious way to send a UHF or digital signal to the second TV. Can anyone help?

edit: I've already bought a splitter cable with a switch so only the PVR playback or aerial signal is sent at once.

Thanks.
Jon.

Re: PVR out to analogue

To do what you want requires an "RF Modulator" which are no longer being fitted to DVDRs...(your RDR-HXD860 is a DVDR...not a PVR).
The only way to output a signal by RF is to ...
A. Buy an RF Modulator.
B. Buy an AV Sender...or
C. Plug the VCR Scart out in to the scart input of an old VCR and then use the RF Output from that to the cable to the kitchen.

Thanks. I've already tried an AV sender but that didn't work very well.
I'll try an RF modulator. They're a bit expensive though looking around.

JayCee's suggestion of an old VCR would be cheaper. (Bet you thought you'd seen the last of the VCR!)

I have one of these and it's very good

UHF Modulator TV/CCTV/ Home Cinema/Camera /New design on eBay, also, CCTV Security Cameras, Security Equipment, Consumer Electronics (end time 29-Nov-08 20:22:55 GMT)

You can get cheaper ones but the channel setting is very fiddly (it's done using tiny little dip switches)
