Topfield 5800 remote battery door?

Hi

Is there a way to source just the battery door for the remote of the Topfield 5800? The clip on mine has broken and I am getting sick of replacing the decorators' tape on it

Thanks!

Considered fitting a screw? Would just need a hole in a suitable place on the flap and the cabinet immediately beneath it - small drill or fine soldering iron tip, then a small self-tap screw.

Thanks Graham, I should have said I was aware of this option, but fro 26 pounds I can get a lot of sticky tape :-)

Thank you too, nvingo, I may well try this.

I was hoping someone would have a duff remote with a useable door.

Re: Topfield 5800 remote battery door?

How about a small blob of Blu-tack as a removable adhesive on the batteries themselves and then just press the door down into the correct position?

I haven't tried it myself and I'm unsure if it will react with the batteries though...

Re: Topfield 5800 remote battery door?

Just thought of a posible solution. Get hold of the small circular self adhesive velcro fasteners. seperate and cut one of the pair in half, stick one bit on the bottom of the door and the other half on the case next to it. Take the other complete circle bit place on top. Job done. Knew those hours watching Blue Peter weren't wasted
