Just a couple of questins...will i need a setanta Cam for this?

The pause live tv function and record etc do you have to pay anything to use these functions like you do on SKY...or is this all free?

I think you can get the same unit from Argos here for £89.99 instead of £149 from Kays. You would not have to pay a subscription if you just wanted to use all the facilities such as pause and record of Freeview channels but if you want to receive and therefore record Sentana programmes then you would have to pay the Sentana monthly subscription. The Argos offer includes the connection charge and 1 month's subscription to Setanta Sports and Top Up TV Anytime. Kays seem to offer something similar (see the "More Info" tab on the link you posted).

Nice find it was just easy to order from kays but for that Argos price i may as well buy outright..

So i would not need a setanta Cam for this pvr as i already have a brand new Setanta card?...Is it just a case of slotting the card in???

I'm afraid I don't know the answer for certain as I am not familiar with the way Santana works but I would think that is correct. You may need to do some setup steps on the PVR. I would expect that the box would come with instructions. Maybe some one else in here nows the answer. If you don't get an answer here try browsing or asking the question in the Top Up TV forum here.

hi, you dont need a cam for the box.
its only got a card slot - not a cam slot.

A little confusing but correct.

Effectively the Thomson box already has an inbuilt CAM with a slot on the front of the box. So all you need to get Setanta is:

Thomson box
Setenta viewing card.

Oh you also need to pay your subscription :-)
