How to Tell T810 from T816 (Digihome PVR)?

Been doing a fair amount of reading here on various PVRs and I'm busy scouting for a T810 basic like a Digihome PVR80 BUT how do I actually know if it's a T810 or a T816? Vendors often don't know so it's a little bit of shooting in the dark... Generally speaking are the single tuner devices (Digihome DTR0207??) T810? I'm after T810 because of the lesser bugs. I don't need twin tuner or twin record - just after a basic budget device so if anyone has any specific recommendations then please help. Appreciate it.

The basic Digihome T810 is very reliable, in my experience (just wish it had stronger tuners, it will be OK as long as you have good reception/good aerial). Just make sure you are getting the model number PVR80 or PVR160, not a DTR+++.

In the thread about converting the T810 to a twin-record, you'll find other model names that are clones, eg, Goodmans and some sold by Tesco/Asda etc.

If you're buying online and the picture has the Freeview Playback logo, then it'll be a T816 or T825, the buggy ones. Only trouble is, some eBay sellers are passing off the T810 as Freeview Playback... it's a minefield out there

Re: How to Tell T810 from T816 (Digihome PVR)?

If its of any interest I have a digihome PVR 80 (810 model about 20 month old) surplus to requirements, If you'd like it I want £35 for it posted, I'll have to set up a for sale to comply with forum rules.
I found the tuner's weren't up to scratch as I live in a poor signal area. I've replaced it with durabrand 825 which picks up all the multiplex's fine. Let me know if you are interested and I'll post an advert- it wont be any good if you livein an area with poor signal though.

There is some useful information here which will help you to identify a particular Vestel PVR.

Re: How to Tell T810 from T816 (Digihome PVR)?

Thanks for help and advice - it's basically why I'm either after a cheap n cheerful or go straight for a Humax 9200. I'll probably pick up a PVR80 on the cheap if the opportunity arises. Thanks again

Hi Terry, does it suffer from the ubiquitous black line syndrome tho? And also, a bit of a dumb question but do PVRs have to be used flat (ie. has anybody wall mounted one to save space)?? Otherwise, very interested.
