multiple humax 9200s in same room?

is there any way of modifying humax remotes? we have a 9200 and want either a second 9200 or humax lcd tv with integrated pvr in same room. the problem seems to be remotes are common. with our old panasonic vhs recorders we could switch one remote to a different frequency to avoid clashes.

any advice please?

With some PVRs e.g. Technotrend and Vestel you can daisy chain the SCART connections and control both PVRs independently using the AUX or TV/DTV buttons on the Remote. With these PVRs when the unit is switched to the AUX or TV/DTV mode the unit does not respond to any commands other than the Power (Standby) button and the AUX or TV/DTV button. So if you initially establish the condition that one PVR is in TV mode and the other is in DTV mode then pressing AUX or DTV will switch control from one to the other. It may be that the Humax does not work this way and switching to the TV mode does not disable the other buttons on the Remote Control.

Nothing you can do apart from shielding the 9200 sensors and using the remote in a different position for each.

I asked for support for a 2nd receive code more than 2 years ago, for use with generic remotes, mainly to get round problems people were having with interference with their TV remotes. Humax never responded. Cant see it happening now.

Is that because the Humax does NOT disable response to Remote Commands when in "TV" mode? I vaguely recall marcdavis saying something about this a long time ago.

The TV problem is some TV's responding to the 9200 remote... if they have a 'TV mode' (don't think they do) it wouldn't help.

I suspect the button on the Humax Remote Control which performs the function I was referring to is the "Source" button.

Re: multiple humax 9200s in same room?

to make matters worse, the new humax lcd tvs with pvr also use same remote as 9200, so as a loyal customer you cant even use one of their tvs with a 9200 - but who needs to record 4 channels? - i do.

i have 2 8000Ts and had to put one upstairs for same reason.
