hi , i plan to manually update to v.21 tomorrow with the ota update.

have you got a list of things i need to do, i.e in the right order?

or do i just manually update to v.21, and then re-format the hard drive?

any helps appreciated, ive only had it a week, on v.15 now and dont want to screw things up.

There should be no need to do a format of the hard drive.
All you need to do after the update is a 'reset to default settings'

Do the manual update, then do the reset.

The reset will lose any favourite channel lists and recordings you've scheduled so if you have any of these it may be an idea to write them down before you start so you can easily set them up again after the reset.

Indeed there should be no need to format. If the drive's still nearly empty do it anyway. I've seen no reports of problems from people who started with v20/v21 and the only way to 100% match their setup is formatting under v21.

Start with a completely clean slate if its convenient. The risk of problems may be small (it may also just be taking time to show up) but its not zero.

UPDATED SUCCESSFULY TODAY TO V.21

also did a system re-set, and formatted the hard drive as there was only a couple of things recorded.
