When I first got this, due to the fact I have my cable set to the TV embedded in the wall, I used a 3 to 1 HDMI splitter to manage the video input to my TV for my humax and bluray. The issue is that when watching a bluray a picture loss will occur when the humax starts to record a programme the has been per-programmed. Although I am not watching the humax a video signal must be generated and confusing the tv or HDMI splitter.
I have recently bought an arcam avr400 and I also lose the picture when watching a bluray firstly when the humax switching into record mode 15 mins before programme record start and also when the programme starts to record. the arcam now does the video switching and I no longer use the HDMI splitter.
The only way to rectify this is to switch off my arcam and to switch it off again.
Is there anyway to stop the humax sending video output when it switches to record mode ( if I am not watching it)
Thanks for any suggestions

Cables burred in walls without accessible ducts is repeatedly shown to be a very limiting idea.
The first problem will be due to RF leakage from one of the HDMI cables ( or conceivably the splitter itself ) and hopefully the most likely candidate will the lead from the Bluray player to the splitter.
Leaky leads can cause some or all RF multiplexes to be knocked out causing failure of reception.
A cheap replacement HDMI will usually cure the problem.
In the worst cases it can be necessary to improve the RF flyleads with better screened types so that the interference does not 'leak back in'
Make sure termination boxes are in good shape too as the interference has been known to leak back in there too.
Keep the RF and HDMI leads as separate as practically possible... Obviously not an option with cables buried in the wall - but hopefully the problem does not lie there as presumably you would have reception problems when using the Fox if it were.
No idea about the second problem - sorry - other than to suggest checking the HDMI settings option of all devices.
