Issue with new HUMAX FOX T2 HD 1Tb

Only had this a week and something odd happened last nite. It didn't record the evening euro football game despite it being set to do so on the EPG.

When I tried to access the media menu, it just kept coming up with the "NO GO" sign in the top right.

I tried live recording and the same "no go" sign appeared.

I switched it off at the back and switched on again and everything seems ok now.

???

Probably corruption. Probably random.

Last nite while watching a playback of the England game, the screen just went blank. I could access the media menu and press play but still nothing appeared. It was recording something else at the time. I switched off and switched on again and still it wouldn't play anything, though it came up with the time bar along the bottom and I could fast forward etc but with a blank screen.

I then stopped the recording switched off (heard the hard disk stopping) then switched on again and it was working OK again.

Is this normal for this unit?

Can I expect this sort of thing to happen regularly?

Not with a correctly-functioning unit. Sounds like yours is a bad one. Speak to the retailer and get a replacement.

Thanks for that guys. I did a little research on the internet and tried a couple of things that apparently can make the unit more stable.

I have put it on a surge protection socket, did a full system factory reset of the system and formatted the hard drive.

I bought it from amazon so have 30 days grace to exchange/return.

If it acts up just one more time I will exchange.

Will let you know.

The only time it has crashed is when I tried to access "world radio" on via the tv portal. Not really bothered about tv portal though.

Other than that it has been completely stable.

The latest firmware update has broken the internet radio option.
