Topfield 5800PVRt hard drive problem?

I have a Topfield 5800PVRt. The archive button will no longer bring up the list of recordings. I can pause, but when I resume it returns to live TV. Rewind function does not work. In the EPG, I cannot instruct a program to record.

I fear this is a hard drive problem as the tuner seems to be working (I can watch live tv).

I have unplugged it, reset it to factory settings and rescanned for programs.

Any suggestions? I bought it in May this year, so will still be under guarantee.

What firmware is your 5800 running?

Full details on how to find the firmware version you are running with and details on where to get updates and how to install them can all be found Here.
The site with the firmware details also has a dedicated support forum for the Topfield PVR's and you may find others with the same or similar faults that may have already found a solution.

It is Version 5.14.09+, just the one it came with. I'll look into updating the firmware if you think that may fix the problem.

If you have a read on the Toppy.org.uk forum about issues with the 5.14... firmware you may well find mention of the same or similar issue that you have (I'm not sure as my 5800 runs the recommended firmware and the MyStuff TAP). Have a read and see what others are saying about the latest firmware and then see if you think it is worth installing another version.
