Right, I've got 2 x Topfield TF5810 on order (EDIT: one for me, the other for my mother), and so thought I'd spend the days waiting for them to be delivered looking into the various TAPs.

Can anyone recommend any must have TAPs, or ones to avoid (to save me a bit of time on the research) for the TF5810?

For at least a week I would use one Toppy "naked" and the other with MyStuff and decide which I preferred. During this period I would make a list of "I wish it could do that... I wish it didn't do that" and then reassess and refer to the TAPs list.

Edit: Oh! I've just seen your other thread. You might have said that you wouldn't be using both yourself. I'd have gone with the Alba for mum: the remote control handling and the interface are more user-friendly, it's a no-nonsense, does-what-it-says-on-the-tin PVR.

Sorry, should have mentioned one was for my mum!

I figured if I get her the same as me, I can talk her through / investigate any issues over the phone.

Plan for now is to get mine running, configured and tested, and set my Mum's up after the final switchover (to prevent any issues with her having to rescan channels + re-create series recording etc).

I understand the alba's seem recommended for Mum's and Dad's, but made the decission to get the unit that would be most configurable for my mum's requirements.
