Hi

Can anyone help me. I'm now on my third HUMAX PVR-9150T. Each one has developed an intermitent fault after about a week of use where about every other day the PVR just hangs up and displays a frozen image. The buttons on the front and all the remote buttons will not work. The only remidy is to turn the mains off and let it re-boot.
I just cant believe I have had three faulty units.

Can anyone throw a light on this?

It has been reported that Humax are aware of this issue and are working on a software update to cure it. See the posts here and here.

I have had my 9150 for around 6 months and no problems with it, just to put people minds at rest.

I'm afraid there are many reports of the lock-up problems on the 9150 and 9300 Humax PVRs. I think the posters above are more likely to rest easy in the knowledge that they are not the only ones with a problem and that Humax are dealing with it.

Just to add that my 9200 is playing silly sods too. I have tried everything to try and help it along (deleting channels , default resets etc) nothing helps !. Hopefully they can sort it out , its got to be due to the switch over recently as mine was great a week ago !!.

I'm assuming you are in the Granada region and have been affected by the DSO activity on the Winter Hill transmitter? If so then this is different from the lock-ups that have been reported for a long time on the Humax 9150/9300. As well as doing what you have done you need to carry out a Manual Tuning exercise. We have 53 Humax PVRs at our locations, I've only installed them in the last few days and so far have had no lock-ups reported. My supplier has just informed me that he has had a lot of reports about lock-ups. After contacting Humax he's been told they are currently beta testing new software that should fix the current 'issues', it should be broadcast in the next couple of weeks.
