Topfield recording problem

I am having problems recording with the topfield. Occasionally when I try to record something on a channel it records the first channel (BBC1) on the list instead. I will give you a more detailed example.

I chose to record a film on channel 15 (Film 4), when I press the OK button the 'P' sign appears on the selected show. When I press it again it disappears, instead of changing to the red 'R' sign. If I go on the list of times when things will be recorded a recording on the channel 1 (BBC 1) will be there at the exact time I wanted to record on FILM 4!

I have tried deleting channel 1, and it just moves up to channel 2 and so on.

So it randomly doesn't record on my chosen channel, instead it records on the first channel on the list.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Usual fix for odd ball problems like this is to do a reset to defaults.

Thanks for the suggestion grahamlthompson, but I have tried this and it didn't' work. I was having a problem with duplicate channels. Anyway I have reset the whole system a few times and this is a consistent problem. Should send the toppy back?

Right the duplicate channels is more than likely the clue that's needed. This is the result of reception from multiple transmitters and is a real problem for pvrs where you set up the recordings from the epg. First thing to do is identify the 6 uhf channels used by your local transmitter for the digital mux. Now delete all your existing radio and Tv channels. Using manual tune add each mux in turn till you have all 6 mux. Hopefully you will now not have the same problem. Good Luck.
