Help recording channel via Sony TV CAM device to Sony DVD HDD recorder

Hi Guys,

this is my first post so bare with me....I have a Sony Bravia lcd with a CAM slot which I use to subscribe to ESPN (formerly Santanta). My problem is: I cant seem to record programmes off this channel onto my DVD HDD. When I try, the DVD records a blank screen!

I am assuming my problem has something to do with the fact that the tv and DVD player have saperate digital/freeview tuners and because the Topup TV card is connected to my tv, only the signal to my tv tuner is decoded (am I on the right tract?).

The DVD model I have (Sony RDRHXD790B 120GB HDDR) does not have a CAM slot, so I can not just transfer the card over.

Is there anyway to fix this problem?

p.s. I currently have the external ariel connected to the DVD and then to the TV using an a scart & HDMI cable.

Thanks a lot guys, in advance

The TV should output what's on the screen in cvbs video and analogue stereo audio from it's scart sockets. You should just need to select the scart to which the TV is connected on the DVD recorder as the recording source and the input to cvbs (composite) if it's not auto recognised. If the TV has a spare scart connect that to the DVD vcr scart and use that to record from as doing it this way you can monitor what you are recording by selecting the vcr scart. On Sony Bravia TV's one scart can be selected to output another input rather than the on screen picture if using this scart check it's set to output the screen (usually marked monitor)
