Any regrets yet?

I'm just wondering if any new PSP Go owners are now thinking about not being able to trade games and the higher PSN prices and is it making you think you've made a mistake and should've gone for a regular PSP?

Surely these considerations would have been made before buying? & if not isn't 3 days a little soon to be thinking about trades?

Re: Any regrets yet?

No regrets however still smarting at the £200 - asda living Leeds Crown Point good price compared to the RRP but still a lot.

I blatantly have more money than sense and Sony are probably after my demographic with this console (25-35, decent income) as I keep buying off the store more than actually playing games. Hated UMDs and that is why I got rid of my original PSPs despite buying each new model.

Play TV Remote Play works better than I remember and the size and shape does it for me, great little device.

And I still havent got my GT code despite registering lunch time on friday. Given technology in this day and age it should have been instant but Sony know what they are doing with mugs like me spending on the store while I wait...

Loving Motorstorm despite crippling my aging 33 yr old fingers after an hour...

I agree. Then again IMHO there has been way too much negativity on the PSP Go forums. Anyone would think that the PSP Go and digital downloads was the only way to play PSP games. People have a choice. If they aren't happy with the way the PSP Go has turned out then they can always use a PSP 3000 or a even get a second hand PSP 1000/2000.

I've upgraded from a PSP 1000 to a PSP Go and I'm glad to see the back of UMD's and I never trade my games in. Then again I only buy a hand full of AAA titles and not all the rest of the rubbish that is put out. I was looking forward to the PSP Go and after I got it I realised I like it even more then I thought I was going to.

The smaller screen does taking getting use to and I think I'm going to need my glasses when using it which is something I didn't do so much with the PSP 1000. Then again I have the same issue with my iPhone so I wouldn't call it a problem of the PSP Go. I love the much smaller form factor and lighter wait. All I need to do now is get a decent case and I'm good to go.

I'm not sure I really agree as I'm sure there must been some people just couldn't not have the device without really thinking it through.

Maybe some people have more money than others, for instance I could afford to get the Go by trading in stuff but once I had it I wouldn't be able to afford games very often.

I just think it's a really interesting moment to hear from those who've bought one. I held one in Game the other day and it fits perfectly in to my hands, better than the original design (Yes I have small hands) and the analogue nub feels better than ever so from a playability point of view it's the best option for me.

But a long term view doesn't bold to well for me unless prices are reduced a little. I was just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.

Re: Any regrets yet?

nope. only regret is how long its taking me to get my GT download code, which was the thing that got me wanting to rebuy a PSP in the first place (GT, not the free bit)

Re: Any regrets yet?

I regret it and have already resigned myself to the fact I'll be selling it shortly. I got so bored of waiting for the GT code I bought the UMD and playing it on my old PSP and not really enjoing it, the loading times together with the lack of any career mode make it a rather monotonous gaming experience IMO. I'd be interested to see how different the loading times are on the Go!

I assume its loading when the GT logo is up? I counted 8 seconds going into the menus and 5 into a race. Although thats the first time ive counted, so each time could yield different results?

Re: Any regrets yet?

I got the GO on 1st Oct and so far I am of mixed view. After 30 mins playing Motorstorm my fingers were cramping - using the shoulder button in conjunction with the X was difficult for my hands. Much more difficult than the psp 1000 I have had for years. This was a purchase to see what I should buy my sons and now I am not sure. I like the PSPGo as a device in general but there are faults.

Media Go - what a load of rubbish - 2 hrs to transfer a couple of videos - wont use that again.

Downloads - 3 hrs for GT ? sems a bit ridiculous - is it just the servers overworked at the moment ? (got code by Saturday pm).

Load times seems less though and the screen is fantastic (no better than the psp 3000 I assume though.

Overall - no regret as such but not as impressed as could be.

Re: Any regrets yet?

no regrets from me either, love the go, did find my hands getting a little cramp after playing gt for a bit, but love the go, just ordered a 16gb m2 card so will put all my movies and music on that and keep the 16gb internal memory just for games.i like the fact that its compact and everything is there when i knock it on, no need so carry loads of umds about with me, just wish sony would update the psn with a load more games for it, just like the usa store is, plus get metal gear solid out on the psn store sooooooon

Not a good start, a device that requires down loads, and the store doesn't work on your first attempt, not exactly good points for Sony.

I so wanted Sony to get he PSP Go right, but I think its too half hearted...

Heres to the PSP GO 2000, 3000, the PSP GO 2 etc etc, they may eventually get things right.
