Could it be soon?

http://www.tu4ar.com/

Could be anything but rumours are it's Capcoms cross over fest.

re: Marvel VS Capcom 2

This is about the most exciting announcement I've heard in ages. In the lead up to SFIV I actually got out all my Capcom fighting games and realised (other than SF II) this was by far my fave. Though I suck at it so maybe should go back and practice! I hope they sort out the weird looking backgrounds a little though.

Cool, the demo will whet the appetite of lots. The hardcores will most likely snap this up.....hopefully adding upto enough numbers for 3 to get the go ahead.

If the video from that teaser site is right then just expect a straight port of the arcade....no HD Remix

Hopefully there will be online play too.

re: Marvel VS Capcom 2

I read on IGN (can't link as I can't get to IGN from work PC) that Capcom created the backgrounds at a higher definition than the arcade machines or ps2 could handle, and that there will be widescreen support and 2 different smoothing filters. So no HD remix but it should still be the best looking version of the game thusfar.

Well yeah....

But imagine it redrawn in 1080p

The backgrounds are 3d tho so I would assume only the 2d parts would be redrawn meaning not as much work.

Guess I should be grateful it's coming

re: Marvel VS Capcom 2

I remember when I first saw these Vs games in the arcades. I thought it was the coolest thing to have all these great Marvel characters in the Street Fighter universe. A wonderful platform to portray their powers. I also remember how crap I was at the games, and that I couldn't understand how anyone could tell what was happening onscreen during a super move. I mean, the game was so fast, and there was just all these flashing bright lights all over the place...

re: Marvel VS Capcom 2

I'm not super awful and can suually tell what is going on, but those crazy 200 hit combos are beyond me (looks like getting one will be a trophy). Before getting Tatsunoko vs Capcom I saw some videos of 200+ hit combos and thought they looked very easy, best I can actually manage now I have it is about 50 in that's playing my ass off and lucking out. Some people are far too good at Capcom fighting games. I think PSN marvel vs capcom 2 will ease my disappointment in tatsunoko vs capcom having no online (and the fact wii remotes/classic controllers etc suck).

This Thursday, April 30, PlayStation Network users will enjoy a free, exclusive MVC2 demo! No need to purchase another game, just download it straight to your PS3 and get ready for some triple tag team action (A big thank you goes out to Rommel Hernandez who helped make this exclusive demo possible).

Here are the details of the demo:

* Two-player local matches
* Six available characters – Ryu, Chun-Li, Strider, Spider-Man, Iron Man and Wolverine
* Seven selectable environments
* Upscaled 1080p graphics
* Widescreen or 4:3 aspect ratio
* Two graphic filter options for character sprites
* And other cool options to check out

It's only a demo ;p probably single player when release

yea it's no problem, just a bit strange. the crisp/smooth/classic filters are a bit pants, but will need to play with them a bit more to get a decent picture....low res sprites on a 55" = not so pretty!!

Argh I have no one to play with. Is difficult to fit both my fightsticks on my lap, never mind try and fight myself
Looks good though, I quite like the crisp filter. Doesn't look amazing in HD, but compared to my ps2 version (that I do still play) it looks quite a bit nicer. Still think the ps3 controllers suck for this kinda game though. Had a quick go dual shock and was very bad at supers or even shoryuken type moves. I was trying to use the stick though.

I majored on this game in the Dreamcast days so a pad should be easy still not had chance to play it yet tho, bit disappointed it's only 2 player local tho in the demo.

Because It's still a fantastic game? Which online would really enhance? I don't think it looks too bad. Well in fact I thought it ALWAYS looked bad, but it looks good enough for what it is. Though i have to say the King Of Fighters remake in the making looks so much prettier, it is a shame they didn't do a HD remix.

A fantastic game that can be picked up for multiple systems for pennies.

SSF2T is also a fantastic core game that can be picked up for pennies. However SSF2T:HDR is a very good conversion and seeing as they were charging new money for it, they spent some actual on it with new artwork rather than JUST converting the dreamcast code.

SSF2T:HDR looks ok in hi-res and is worth it the difference... MvC2 isnt and looks terrible, a very lazy conversion.

It's only cheap on the DreamCast and very few of us have one of those. The PS2 and Xbox versions are still about as much as I expect this PSN version to cost due to the limited runs after Capcom losing the Marvel license. Oh and trust me as bad as you think this looks it looks so much nicer on a HDTV than the ps2/xbox versions.

Oh and as far as I know none of the releases have had online multiplayer, which like I said is the main reason I want it In a game as competitive and well loved as this that will be a HUGE draw. They did add more than one filter? And 16:9? 16:9 support alone gets my £s, even with the odd graphical glitch.

There are also those (yeah even I agree they are weird) that are purists and would moan if they changed the game (I've even heard people moan about SSF2THDR).

I think you'll find the DC version is the most expensive...or it used to be. It's really rare.

On the issue of looks....I set up my DC the other week and this looked very bad on a big TV, this release does look a million times better...and has been converted to widescreen to boot.

I'll have to admit my information that the DC one was cheaper may have been gleaned from the ever trustworthy wikipedia I do know the ps2/xbox ones still often go £12+

Yay that someone agrees this release looks much nicer.

Cheapest I've ever seen the DC version go for is £30.....it can go for really silly money cos it's pretty rare. It is/was the definitive arcade port so is/was the best version (until this new version gets released most likely)

June 29th apparentely, but this may be jusrt in the US as I can only find the news on US sites.

Also, no MvC3 in the works Not really surprised but still upset. If only Tatsunoko vs Capcom could be ported over to the PS3 with online!
