Recommend me some PSN Games!

Hey guys, feel like buying a few games off of PSN for the first time. Played Super Stardust HD and really liked, so I'll definitely get that. Played a few demos a few months ago but nothing stood out. Only one I remember not liking is Pixel Junk Racers.

I already have the Disk versions of some games ie. Warhawk and GT5p.

Re: Recommend me some PSN Games!

Calling all Cars is addictive, good if you have friends round, not sure what the online population is like anymore tho. Siren is also very good if you like your survival horror type games altho the camera takes some getting used to as it's a pit twitchy/sensitive. MK2 and Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo are also no brainers if you liked them the first time round

IMO games like fl0w and Pain are too shallow, more of a 5 minute 'filler'. PJ Eden is very unforgiving, so unless you want a stern challenge then I'd avoid that too.

Will try Calling All Cars, didn't really like Siren actually.

I would also suggest Pixel Junk: Mosters too. Quite fun, and suprisingly addictive.

How about Bionic Commando Rearmed? Good remake of the original NES game and well worth the £6.99 asking price

Elefunk is okay if you like puzzle games. Bit like Lemmings with elephants.

Re: Recommend me some PSN Games!

Stardust Hd is by far the best. DONT buy Pixel Junk eden, unless you have played it and like it or you are trophy mad, and if you are i would still not get it. I am trophy mad but i really cant stand this game and even trophies cant bring me to get it lol.

Re: Recommend me some PSN Games!

i have to completely disagree with fanners, but hey - this is a video game forum after all less we forget

PixelJunk Eden is a joy to behold, an excerpt from Michael Abbots blog perhaps sums it up best;

"PixelJunk Eden is a masterful collection of opposites: easy and difficult; simple and intricate; stark and sumptuous; soothing and infuriating; innocent and devious. It strikes that perfect Mario-mantra balance of easy to play and difficult to master.
Persistence is rewarded, but luck helps too. Strategy improves your odds, but sometimes having no plan is the best plan. Patience can pay off, but sometimes aggressiveness works best. In the later levels, you will need a savvy combo of all these to survive, but just like the best Mario games, PixelJunk Eden seems to know just when you need a mushroom, er, crystal. Rely on this too much, however, and, just like Mario, the game will stop holding your hand and insist you progress on your own."

i truely believe it harks back to the 8/16 bit 'one more ago, if i dont get it this time il switch it off - Dammit!, OK ONE more go' era.

Re: Recommend me some PSN Games!

I don't know if they're what you're looking for, but you can pick up some classic PSOne games for pittances (i.e., €4.99).

I bought:

International Track and Field

and

Bishi Bashi Special

Both are, IMO, absolute must-buys if you ever have a few mates around for gaming sesh. Although if you have few friends who share your passion for video games these games are definitely not worth picking up.

Ok guys, apart from Superstardust HD, I'm also gonna try Calling all Cars and Int Track and Field. For now that is.

I can't speak for 'Calling all Cars' but you can't go wrong with Int Track and Field. My friends and I spent hours last night trying to break all the world records (one friend got under 8 seconds in the 100m sprint!). Great fun, although I wouldn't recommend playing it for hours — my thumbs were wrecked this morning!
