Crash Commando - Preview/Play And Help Thread

I had a go at this game at the GGC in Leipzig recently. I believe it is exclusive to the PS3. I have to say I was very impressed by the graphics and the gameplay. It was a a lot of fun to play and potentially another game in the long line of quality AAA PSN exclusive games. It was fun in single player but a lot more fun in multiplayer. It get's pretty frantic in multiplayer and has that Smash Brothers vibe. I'm really looking forward to it.

This is out today on PSN. I grabbed the trailer last week and it looks awsome. Edge gave it a 6 but the review clearly showed they hadn't played it online. I'll be getting this one

re: Crash Commando - Preview/Play And Help Thread

When I played it in Leipzig back in August and had a lot of fun with it in local multiplayer. I think Edge's score is a bit harsh.

re: Crash Commando - Preview/Play And Help Thread

Looking at the previews of this it looks pretty cool, I used to have a laugh with a mate playing an indie game on PC called Soldat. Pretty much the same thing. Thing is though, you need to play multiplayer so it just depends if enough people buy it!

Anyone else picked this title up yet? Is it good?
It looks a lot of fun and has nice artstyle. It seems to have reviewed well too. It's priced pretty well. Jeez, i'm talking myself into this

No I can#t see an option for local co-op

was playing last night in the wee hours and it was quite fun, vehicles are way overpowered tho, just get in a tank and annhilate everyone......

only problem is that i seem to get a lot of connection errors, takes a while to find a game to let me in, will have to search fo router settings i guess.

LOL I haven't even got around to trying that out yet, too busy trying to get the hang of the normal weapons!

It costs 7.99. I would say a tad high really, would think this would be better priced at 4.99 or 5.99.

Re: Crash Commando - Preview/Play And Help Thread

Haven't had my PS3 for long - do PSN games tend to drop in price after they are released, or stay at the same price?

CC is £7.99 which seems a bit "high" compared to most PSN games, doesn't it? I know it's only £2-3 more but it's all relative. Is this likely to drop to £4.99 or £5.99, or stay as it is?

I don't think the price will change on this, I could be wrong but they hardly drop on PSN. I'm probably going to buy this later on looks like a lot of fun. What kind of weapons are in this? Any M4's, MP5's or AK-47's?

They aren't that detailed. It's just Machine gun, Shotgun, Rocket Launcher etc...

Re: Crash Commando - Preview/Play And Help Thread

If anyone is worried about a lack of online players then dont be. Plenty of people out there playing, lots of good people but lots of newbies too so you do get a balanced game.
I consider myself to be quite good at the game but still get beat now and then, its just one of those games you need to have one last go on...especially when 4 of you are neck and neck with 30 secs left

Re: Crash Commando - Preview/Play And Help Thread

I like anything which is cheap.. So for £3.99 this looks to be a bargain..

But I played the demo and found it to be a bit like "Smash Brothers"? Is this the case? If so, this is not for me.. I just can't get into that type of game!

Re: Crash Commando - Preview/Play And Help Thread

It's more like a real time Worms. Fists of Plastic is like Smash Brothers...

So they're selling it at £3.99 and today released extra content that's a further £3.99 for everything bundled DLC, new characters, weapons etc. Probably additional trophies.

Personally I would say it's more like Smash Bros. which is not a bad thing.

It is if you don't like Smash Bros.. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with this genre, but its not my cup of tea.

The price of a games mag

Go get it. Online is more fun as its real people as opposed to bots. Once you get in the swing of things its ace
Think of it as a 2d battlefiels, but with no planes, but jetpacks!

I had another go last night and I quite liked it, but it lacked something playing against bots.. So I figured that for £3.99 its a no brainer.. i havn't played it yet.. but even if I get a few hours fun out of it, I will be happy...
